Meet America’s Best Startup Employers 2024

To ascertain America’s Best Startup Employers in 2024, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista. Among the notables comes startup Tendo, which has deviated from recent trends that saw companies forcing employees to relocate following pandemic-era remote work arrangements.

Tendo, a different type of healthcare startup founded in 2020, has opted to bring the office to the employees. An illustrative example comes from Tendo’s San Francisco team. After many employees relocated to San Diego during the pandemic, instead of enforcing return mandates, the sibling-founded startup facilitated a new office in the southern Californian city.

This unique company culture has helped Tendo earn the No. 20 spot on Forbes’ rankings of best startup employers in 2024. In order to qualify for the rankings, startups had to be privately held, U.S.-based, employ more than 50 people, and have been founded between 2014 and 2021. Each company was evaluated on company reputation, employee satisfaction, and growth.

From another perspective, energy startup Our Next Energy (ONE) has been recognized for its “no ego” culture and principled approach to welcoming ideas from every level of the organization. This commitment saw ONE rise to the No. 1 spot in this year’s rankings, up from No. 3 in 2023.

Other notable startups in the ranking include Electric Hydrogen (No. 3), Intersect Power (No. 4), Lunar Energy (No. 10), and Cribl (No. 6). Notably, Cribl, which offers a data engine for IT and security, previously sat at No. 7 in last year’s rankings.

Finally, Devoted Health (No. 5) successfully continues fostering its remote-first culture, whilst Wiz (No. 18), as one of the fastest-growing software startups, further contends with the allure of a future public offering.
